Championship Series #8

Let me tell you NCQMA sure knows how to make the kids at this track feel special. Each division gets to race a CUP race. This means the winner of the race gets a special trophy. Also you get to go out on to the track on your pit cart. While you walk out you are announced and you get to pick a song. Mine was the theme song to Nightmare before Christmas.... I really love Halloween.

As we have been doing lately, we got to the track on Friday for testing. Grandpa and dad tried a few things to find some speed and we were pretty quick. Ran our second fastest time ever.

For Saturday qualifying was batch. Dad always says my job is to get as much distance to the other cars and run my best laps. I did that this time and out of 21 rookie cars (what a great field of cars) we qualified 3rd. That our best qualifying position ever.

At the start of the race, I got a good jump and got out to the lead. The #3 car was fast and tried to pass me but in the process he spun out. After working to get lined back up, we restarted single file with me in the lead and the #2 car behind me. I did a great restart and was able to stay out in front of the #2 car. He stayed within striking distance as we approached a lap car. I used what I have been learning and after one attempted made a really good pass off of 2.. This allowed me to hold on and get the win. Thing is when you are out there that long and coming up to lap cars it gets confusing where you are at. So...... I wasn't positive that I won and drove off the track. The amazing people there got me back on the track and let me celebrate with the checker flag.

I was so fortunate to get to win this race as my final race in red rookie. This event was my first race in 2023 and I was able to win that also. To get to bookend my red journey with wins is very special.
