2026 Racing Report

Rain rain went away and we got to play!

Racing under the lights, with some amazing guest and running boy are we getting better!

We decided not to run the 160 tonight to focus on the 120.

We started in the dreaded P4 slot. Its hard to get down but I fought and did my best but ended up coming down in last (6th). I ran in 6th all of the race working hard to set up and complete a pass on the #5 car. I tried multiple times but never felt comfortable enough to complete the pass. The car was a little lose and as I attempted the pass once I spun out. On the restart I was aggressive but still didn't make the pass. As the race got close to the end I made one attempt at the pass which was good but lost too much speed while doing it and the 5 car crossed me back over. Finishing the night in 6th felt like a defeat because the car had so much speed but it was a great opportunity to learn about how to work with a car that is a little off on handling. Also I realize after watching the race back that I needed to be more aggressive to completed the pass as I was fast enough.

I will continue to learn and improve.

This was a double header race day. That means we do batch qualifying to set positions for both races. Fastest lap sets position for first race second fastest lap sets position for second race.

160 qualifying we made gains but still not showing the speed we need to complete.

120!!! Now that was awesome. I hit my line and the car was hooked up. We were the last group of kids to hit the track and so everyone was watching their phones to see the results. They got to watch my name continue to climb the board and we ended up P2!!!! Yes!

160 race #1 we struggled to keep the car under me and I spun twice. We finished on the lead lap but in last place.

The first 120 was a crazy race. Starting 2nd on the outside is always difficult. I learned a lot from the last time I got to do this till now by watching my fellow competitors and talking to them about how to get better.

I worked really hard and was able to get down in line in fifth place. The race got jumbled up multiple times but I was running with the lead pack. I was able to make a very clean pass and I ended up finishing 4th. My best finish in a championship series race.

So grateful to everyone for cheering me on it felt again like I won the race!

The second race we were just as strong. Starting 2nd on the outside again I fought even harder and was able to get down in line in 3rd. I was able to run in 3rd for a few laps but got passed for 4th and 5th. I was competitive but just needed a little speed compared to those cars. I got bumped and spun out as the caution came out for another incident. I had to start in 8th but I was on it. I was able to make strong passes and was able to finish 5th.

This was a good night.

160 we spun out but was very aggressive on starts and restarts. Need to keep working on the handling of this car so we can be more competitive.

Sr. Honda 120 we were there to fight. I was aggressive on the start and restarts. I raced to 4th place. What a great feeling. When I came off track I was mobbed by everyone. They are all so proud of how I raced. It felt amazing!!!

Summer series event #3

This was a confidence builder for us. Results were not what we strive for but we were scared and was able to overcome.

We didn't do any right during the heat race because we were too scared.

Started 9th in the feature and was able to miss multiple wrecks. Every time I was able to miss a wreck I was able to gain more confidence. While I did get lapped I held my line much better when getting passed. I feel in like one lap down behind the 4th place car and was able to stay with him the rest of the race.

This will give me confidence and I will be faster in our next race.
