What a way to end our first full season. We closed out 2024 Championship series with our 6th win of the year!!
What an amazing season. We learned so much and were very fortunate to be able to win some amazing races.
We qualified for this event using batch qualifying. We did a good job starting with a gap but by the end of the session we had caught some slower cars. This was good because it showed we had speed but we were only able to get up to 6th out of 14 amazing blue rookies.
They split us in to two races. We started 3rd in the second race.
There were a few big cautions at the very beginning that slowed down the start. Once we got going the initial start was not our best. 1st and 2nd got out to a lead. But fortunately a caution came out for a spin behind us.
On the single file restart we did a better job keeping up with the leaders. I was hunting them and working on setting them up for a pass. With only 3 laps in the books 2nd place tried to pass 1st and they made contact. With some quick reflexes I was able to avoid the week but some behind me were not so fortunate.
1st and 2nd were able to continue but we lost a few other cars. The restart was only 4 cars left but we were now in 3rd. While out front we were able to show our speed. We ran a really consistent line and really pulled away. We caught the back of the field with two laps left and we decided to not try a pass. Fortunately with no one behind us we didn't have any pressure and were able to hold on to win.
Great race and way to end the season on a high note. We are so fortunate to have an amazing place to race and spend time. I love being part of this club. Everyone was so supportive and cheered for us.
