BLUE PLATE WIN #1!!!!!
Qualifying this event was a heat race. This is not our strong suite. For this qualifying event we started 3rd and was able to stay there for most of the race. With only a few laps left we caught a lap car. Im still trying to understand how to set up passes with this blue plate speed. Because of this I got nervous and bailed out of the pass. The issue is I went to the infield to avoid a wreck and they put the caution out. With only one lap left we were put to the back of the field and finished 5th. UGH, heat races.
Based on passing point and one of the cars that out qualified us had his first race and was put to the back. This had us starting this race in 3rd.
At the drop of the flag for the feature we had a great started and got passed 2nd. That allowed us to work on our line and try to run down the leader. The #1 car was the leader and took off really well. We worked to get back to her but we didn't have enough speed to make a pass. The leader wrecked while passing a lap car and we were able to get passed.
With only 4 laps to go, we were able to hold off all and win our first blue plate race.
